Pattern may run sideways on rectangular sizes (see photo 4 and 6). Photographed on 18x18 and 12x20 inserts.

For example: "Fits 18x18 insert (17x17 cover)" means the cover will be made 17x17 inches across the middle and it is intended to be filled with a 18x18 inch insert.
