The Mayfair mohair velvet pillow cover is a premier example of fine European velvet making. Woven in the Netherlands in a neutral sandy beige color, this mohair velvet features wide vertical stripes with each stripe measuring approximately 4.5 inches wide. The velvet pile is woven in opposing directions in each stripe to create the two-tone effect.

Mohair velvet is made from the soft and durable fiber of angora goats, and long treasured as a luxury-class of velvets in the $150 to $300+/yard price range. Mohair velvets have a deep pile that you can sink into, and are particularly wonderful as a snuggling partner in fall and winter seasons. They are warm, hard wearing and display a natural sheen. This particular mohair velvet fabric boasts an impressive abrasion rating of 100,000 double rubs.

Kravet Couture designer fabric fiber content: 100% Mohair Pile with cotton backing (overall 49% mohair 51% cotton).
